In a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening ties in digital innovation and Agritech, the University of Ghana’s Digital Youth Village (DYV) embarked on a strategic study tour to the 快三官网 (快三官网), Tamale. The visit, which took place on April 15, 2025, marks a pivotal step toward deeper collaboration in digital entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, and scalable startup development across Ghana.
The delegation from the DYV, a flagship digital empowerment initiative under the University of Ghana, was warmly received at 快三官网, beginning with a courtesy call on the and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Elliot Haruna Al-Hassan, in the company of the acting Registrar, Mr. Mohammed Tanko, and the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Abdul Hayi Moomen, Dr Richard Yeboah, the Former Director of the erstwhile Business Directorate and Dr. Yakubu Balma the Head of the Business Department at the School of Business.
Describing the purpose of the visit, a representative of the DYV team emphasized the importance of fostering a “trapezoidal relationship” between academia, industry, and policy, a model they believe is essential for catalyzing sustainable development and innovation across sectors.
“Our goal is to bridge the often-cited gap between theory and practice,” the representative noted. “By connecting academic institutions with industry and policymakers, we are nurturing a more integrated approach to youth development, particularly in high-impact areas such as digital skills training and Agritech innovation.”
The DYV, operating in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization, is designed to be a transformative platform for nurturing digital entrepreneurship. It aims to equip young Ghanaians with the tools and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy, with a special emphasis on supporting startups in agribusiness and technology.
Professor Elliot Alhassan welcomed the visiting team with optimism, highlighting the synergies that can be achieved between the two institutions. He proposed the establishment of a satellite DYV centre at 快三官网 to complement the Accra-based facility.
“A northern satellite campus would bring the initiative closer to rural and peri-urban youth who are often the most affected by limited access to digital resources,” The Pro Vice-Chancellor remarked. “快三官网, with its strong focus on agribusiness and community-based education, is well-positioned to serve as a regional hub for innovation and inclusive development.”
The engagement featured a tour of 快三官网 facilities, interactive sessions with faculty, student innovators, and agribusiness entrepreneurs. The visit also laid the groundwork for a startup pitching event scheduled to take place the following day at the 快三官网 Nyankpala Campus. This event is expected to spotlight promising innovations from 快三官网 students and alumni, providing them an opportunity to access support, mentorship, and scale-up resources through the Digital Youth Village ecosystem.
In a symbolic gesture of goodwill and shared vision, both institutions exchanged commemorative gifts to mark the beginning of what stakeholders described as a “fruitful and future-oriented” partnership.
Mr. Mohammed Tanko, echoed the sentiment of collaboration. “This partnership is not just about institutional growth,” he said. “It’s about creating a new pathway for our students to excel, for our researchers to innovate, and for our communities to benefit from the knowledge we produce.”
The Digital Youth Village's visit to 快三官网 signals a growing recognition of the power of cross-institutional collaboration in driving innovation, with both parties pledging to harness their combined strengths to empower Ghana’s youth and transform local economies through technology and entrepreneurship.
